Day trip to Mikumi National park from Dar es salaam

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park
Depart at 5.00am (or earlier) from DSM city center and proceed to south of Dar es Salaam , along the Tanzania / Zambia Highway with picnic lunch, spend the rest of the day for game drive in Mikumi National Park .

With 3,230 square kilometers coverage Mikumi National Park is well-known park in Tanzania .The park is well-known for its population of elephants, giraffes buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater Kudu, wildebeest, roan and sable antelope. Predators include tree-climbing lions (which are in large number),leopards, wild hunting dogs and black-backed jackal. More than 300 species of birds have been recorded here including Eurasian migrants such as red billed oxpecker, marabou stork and lilac breasted roller. Late afternoon, return to Dar es Salaam City

After breakfast full day game drive of the park Lunch at Hippo pool picnic site Dinner and overnight at Camp

Day 3: Mikumi National Park – Dar es Salaam
Morning game drive through the Mikumi National Park with picnic Lunch. Afternoon, return to Dar es Salaam City (B,L).

3 days Selous Game Reserve:

Day 1, Dar es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve(about 5hrs,about 250km from Dar es Salaam)
Picked up from you Residential Area and drive to Selous Game Reserve,then Lunch
Late afternoon Boat Safari along the mighty Rufiji River.

You will discover the Rufiji River by boat,encounter hippos and crocodiles in good numbers. Some 350 bird species have been recorded in the Selous Game Reserve. These are typical of miombo woodlands,and the bird life supported by Rufiji swamplands is of particular interest.
Dinner and overnight at Lodge/Camp

Day 2,:Full Day Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve
Breakfast then picked up with picnic lunch boxes for Full Day Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve.

The Selous Game Reserve is the largest in Africa ,covering 54,600 square kilometer.The park gets its name from the hunter and explorer Frederick Courtney Selous.He was killed here during World War 1.Selous is famous for its elephants.Other species commonly seen are lions,Giraffes,wild dogs,buffaloes,bushbuck,impalas,elands,baboons,zebras and greater kudus.It was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but more shy than the Northern Parks.Excursions by 4×4 vehicle will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of vast park.

Dinner and overnight at Lodge/Camp

Day 3: Walking Safari and Dar es Salaam
After early breakfast, another day in the Selous Game Reserve. You will start with early morning walking safari with Picnic Lunch, followed by the transfer back to Dar es Salaam

Walking safari will give you a particularly intimate feel for the African wilds .It starts in the morning with a guidance of an armed ranger, takes 2 hours before you meet the driver at the reserve gate. Walking safaris offer a good chance of seeing giraffe, zebra, elephant and good birding.
